Course Description

This is a basic class in designing and producing a simple websites. 
Students will use a combination of website building tools such as Netscape
Composer 7.2, basic HTML code, and Macromedia Dreamweaver.   In
addition, students will practice using the features of the nicenet.org website,
such as  messaging, conferencing, and link sharing.  Tests will be taken
and graded online.  Students who have personal email accounts will be
able to receive their test results immediately by email. 

As a final project, each student will design and create a personal website
containing text, graphics, functioning links, and a special effect such as a
banner, a mouse trail, or a mouseover.
   
Class assignments are posted on an internet class  portal, nicenet.org. 
Each student will login to nicenet.org with his or her own username and
password.  All class assignments will be posted on the Nicenet website.
Additional class information and materials will be posted on this website,
pbrattan.com.  Students who are absent can check both websites for missed
assignments and information.  Students can also message the teacher as
well as their classmates through nicenet.org, even if they don't have
personal email accounts.
